the social structure which emerged some 12,000 years ago known as civilisation is built on very specific cornerstones: the exploitation of non-human life forms, the accumulation of resources and the replacement of a sense of territoriality with ownership. but there are also aesthetic standards that define so-called civilisation, and which help to reinforce its principles: straight lines, geometric shapes, regular surfaces. all these elements do not exist in nature but are capable of casting a spell over our senses: our threshold of perception narrows and our ability to read and understand the world diminishes drastically.
we may, however, encounter certain creatures capable of casting a counter-spell, shattering before our very eyes the illusion of straight lines and regular geometric shapes. once this aesthetic spell is broken, the other cornerstones upon which civilisation is founded will also be revealed in all their senselessness.
obviously, the creatures capable of casting this counter-spell pose a threat to civilisation, so they are cast out of human society and cursed forever with the reputation of being dangerous, toxic and deadly.
these creatures have taken refuge in the woods, where we may still encounter them from time to time.
