experts

experts first came to me in 2007, when i decided to exclude all animal products from my diet. they told me i would become ill from malnutrition and die.
in 2014, when i adopted an almost totally frugivorous diet, experts came to tell me that i would lose my status of vertebrate and that i would soon turn into a puddle and die evaporating.
in 2021, when i refused the mandatory jab, the experts told me i would die and made my loved ones die.
a year and a half ago, when i stopped using soap (i had already abandoned shampoo, toothpaste, etc. for years) and started washing myself only with cold water, the experts came back to have their say, predicting that i would die eaten by bacteria.
of course, i can drop dead at any time (as any living being, experts included), but over the years i have run marathons, practiced martial arts, traveled thousands of miles on bicycle, written two books and moved house five times.
and when personal experiences tie in with a generalized feeling, there's a strong temptation to draw conclusions. that's why, dear experts, sometimes i have the impression that your opinion isn't worth shit.
